GENERAL POLICY
Information
- Completed Forms with registration fees and first month's fees should be submitted before the start of all classes, workshops, and programs. These forms will be in our records for your convenience and for our information.
- Classes are not scheduled on Federal or State holidays shown in the website holiday calendar.
- Students are expected to follow directions, perform to the best of their abilities, and to respect others in the class. If necessary, parents will be informed of any misconduct.
- Special Needs (physical, mental, or emotional) should be brought to the attention of the instructor prior to registration, in order to provide all of our students with the most effective learning environment at our studio. Information you give us will be kept in strictest confidence.
- Please ensure the children have had a good meal prior to attending class. (hungry kids have difficulty focusing).
- We will appreciate a month's notice in case you plan to discontinue.
- Art Supplies are included in the fees of all classes, workshops, and programs. For the Fashion design course Pattern making supplies and sewing machines required would be available for use in the studio.
- All students should wind up their work and clean up their spaces before leaving.
- Fashion Design students should clean all the scraps, unwind, switch off and cover the machine before they leave.
- It is important that students are picked up on time due to necessary clean-up and prep time for the next class. Please call in advance if there will be any unusual delays.
- Drinking water is available, we however encourage children to carry their own drinking water.
- We encourage students to practice at home to get the best learning .
MAKEUP CLASS
Eligibility & Limits
Purpose & Eligibility: Makeup classes are intended as additional support for students who miss a scheduled session due to genuine, unavoidable reasons. They are not an entitlement.
Active Enrollment Required: Makeup classes must be taken within the registered (paid) month as an extra class. They cannot be used as credit to replace a future payment or carried over into a month where the student is not enrolled
- Students are expected to attend all classes they are enrolled in.
- Makeup classes must be taken at the student’s class level or below.
- Makeup classes will not be offered in months that have five weekdays.
- Absences must be informed in advance via text. Makeup classes will not be given without prior notification.
- Each student artist/designer is allowed up to three (3) makeup classes per academy semester.
- Makeup classes must be used within six (3) weeks of the missed class or they will be forfeited.
- If the studio cancels a class due to unforeseen circumstances, a makeup class will be scheduled for the batch.
Camps/Workshops
General Policy
Workshops require consistency in order to achieve the most. However, we understand that students may for unseen reasons need to miss a class. Following guidelines are made to ensure that you get the most out of your sessions at Kalaa Art & Design Studio. These policies are important so that we can be respectful of the instructor’s time and commitment.

Health & Safety
- Materials: All necessary supplies for sessions are provided by the studio.
- Snacks: We provide a small snack during the session break.
- Meals: Please ensure your child has eaten a full meal before arriving, as hungry students often have difficulty focusing.
- Due Date: Fees are due in full at the time of registration
- Reference: Please include the student’s name in the memo/reference field of your payment.
- Payment Methods: We accept Cash, Check, Zelle, Venmo, and Google Pay
- Refunds: Camp and workshop fees secure your child’s spot for the week; therefore, fees for missed classes are non-refundable.
- Make-up Classes: If your child misses a day, they may attend one of our regular studio sessions to make up for it.
- Ratio: One regular class per day missed.
- Scheduling: Please contact the studio in advance to coordinate your make-up session.
- Illness: If your child has a common cold or cough, they are required to wear a mask.
- Sanitization: Hand sanitizer is available for all students. We suggest that every student sanitizes their hands at the beginning and the end of each class.
OUR SHARED COMMITMENT
Tuition & Payment
- To ensure we can provide high-quality materials, maintain our studio space, and fairly compensate our dedicated instructors, we kindly ask for your cooperation with our payment timelines
- Fees are due by the 1st of the month, with a friendly grace period extending until the 10th of that month.
- Payments can be made via Google Pay, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, or check with the reference of student's name and class.
- If payment hasn't been received by the 10th, a $15 administrative fee will be added. This isn’t a penalty, but rather a way to cover the extra administrative time required to follow up on late accounts.
- There will be no makeup classes or fee exemptions for Holidays listed in the Kalaa Calendar. Winter Break and Summer Break fees are prorated.
- We know life happens! If you ever face a temporary hurdle, please just send me a quick note before the 1st. We are always happy to work with our families when we have a heads-up.
Liability Waiver& Release
Release of Claims
Acknowledgment of Risk and Release of Liability While the safety and well-being of every child is a priority at Kalaa Art & Design, by submitting this registration, you acknowledge that participation in art programs and studio activities involves inherent risks. You hereby confirm that your child’s participation is strictly voluntary and that you are free to decline services at any time.
Release and Indemnification In consideration of your child’s enrollment, you hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless Kalaa Art & Design, its owner Dr. Nidhi Sharda, and all associated teachers, volunteers, consultants, and staff (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action. This release applies to any personal injury, property damage, or loss of personal belongings arising out of or related to your child’s attendance or participation in any programs, classes, or services offered by Kalaa Art & Design, whether on or off the studio premises.
Binding Agreement By electronically submitting this registration form, you certify that you have read and fully understand the contents of this waiver. You acknowledge that this digital submission constitutes a binding agreement and serves as a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
